The ASM Minority Travel Award (MTA) was established to increase participation of underrepresented minority groups at ASM conferences and programs. Open to faculty and postdoctoral scientists in the microbiological sciences from underrepresented minority groups.
ASM Minority Travel Awardees are required to serve as a mentor in the year-round ASM Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship (FLMF) Program and attend the entire ASM Microbe 2025, Thursday, June 19-Monday, June 23.

Award package includes:
- Complimentary registration and housing to ASM Microbe 2025*.
- * Housing is for 4 nights, checking-in Thursday, June 19 and checking-out on Monday, June 23.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria when applying for the ASM MTA:
- Be a faculty member or postdoctoral scientist.
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or DACA eligible.
- Be an ASM member (2025 membership year). A membership number is required during the application process. Please allow 24 hours for new memberships before applying.
- Not previously a recipient of an ASM Microbe travel award within the last 2 years.

Travel Awards applications will be open from Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 to Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024. Applicants will be notified if they are selected to receive an award by Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024.
