Amanda Harrington, Ph.D., D(ABMM), is an associate professor and Vice Chair for Clinical Pathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Loyola University Chicago and Director of the Clinical °®¶¹´«Ã½ Laboratory at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill.

She earned her doctoral degree in microbiology from the University of Kansas, did her postdoctoral fellowship training in clinical microbiology at the University of Washington in Seattle and is a diplomate of the American Board of Medical °®¶¹´«Ã½. She is currently serving as the President of the Illinois Society for °®¶¹´«Ã½ and the Community Leader for Clinical and Public Health °®¶¹´«Ã½ on the Council on Microbial Sciences for the American Society for Clinical °®¶¹´«Ã½. She is also serving as the ASM Liaison to the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Governors. Her research interests include clinical diagnostic testing and utilization, as well as quality metrics for clinical microbiology.
