Carey-Ann Burnham, Ph.D., D(ABMM), FIDSA, F(AMM) completed her Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and fellowship training in clinical microbiology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine under the direction of Wm. Michael Dunne, Jr. Currently, Burnham is a Professor of Pathology & Immunology, Pediatrics, Molecular °®¶¹´«Ã½ and Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She is the Medical Director of the system clinical microbiology laboratory at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the program director for the CPEP fellowship in Medical and Public Health °®¶¹´«Ã½ Fellowship at Washington University. Burnham has held several editorial roles, including serving as an editor for the Journal of Clinical °®¶¹´«Ã½, Clinical °®¶¹´«Ã½ Newsletter, Clinics in Laboratory Medicine and the Manual of Clinical °®¶¹´«Ã½, and she is the co-editor of the textbook The Dark Art of Blood Cultures. Burnham has held leadership roles in professional societies, including the American Society for °®¶¹´«Ã½, Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute, the American Academy of °®¶¹´«Ã½ and the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists.
