Chelsey C. Spriggs, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of Michigan in the Departments of Cell & Developmental Biology and °®¶¹´«Ã½ & Immunology, and a research assistant professor at the Life Sciences Institute. Dr. Spriggs is fascinated by the study of virus-host interactions and using viruses as a tool to better understand cell biology. She has studied the entry, replication, and transformation of DNA tumor viruses including human papillomavirus and polyomavirus. Now, her lab (opened July 2022) researches the relationship between viruses and cancer through investigating the viral entry pathways of oncogenic and oncolytic viruses. She is passionate about outreach, mentorship and improving diversity in academia and is the Co-Founder and Treasurer for the Black Microbiologist Association (also known as Black In °®¶¹´«Ã½).
