Katherine Lontok, Ph.D., is the Director of Science and Policy Communications with the Immune Deficiency Foundation and the former Scientific and Digital Editor for ASM. Lontok holds a B.S. in cell and molecular biology and genetics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, San Francisco. Her thesis work focused on RNA splicing patterns during the blood stage lifecycle of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
