Dr. Lorraine Findlay received her Ph.D. from New York University, M.S. from Long Island University and B.S. from Queens College, CUNY. She has served as full professor of the Allied Health Sciences Department of Nassau County College for over 25 years and as Director of the Laboratory Sciences Core Area, encompassing the surgical technology, medical technology, physical therapy, radiation therapy, respiratory care, radiologic technology, nursing, pre-physician and pre-physician assistant programs, inter-locked didactically with Nassau University Medical Center. She is the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and has authored 5 editions of an internationally-published Manual of Laboratory Exercises in Medical °®¶¹´«Ã½. 

Previously, Findlay was a professor at the NYU School of Medicine, director of microbiology for Bel Mar-Schein Pharmaceuticals, director of clinical microbiology at Beth-Israel Hospital in New York City and research scientist in virology at the Osborn Marine Science Laboratories at the New York Aquarium. She is ASCP-certified as a Specialist in °®¶¹´«Ã½, has served as ASCP N.Y. State Advisor for the Northeast Region and is a recipient of the ASCP Northeast Region Award. 

She was chair for 9 years of the ASM Committee on the Status of Women in °®¶¹´«Ã½, a member of the ASM Committee on Career Development Grants for Post-Doctoral Women and a member of the ASM PSAB Committee on Biodefense. She co-chaired the 10th annual ASM Undergraduate °®¶¹´«Ã½ Education Conference and is a current member of the ASM Committee on History and Office of °®¶¹´«Ã½ Archives.
