Muhammad Usman Qamar, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Institute of °®¶¹´«Ã½, Government College University Faisalabad. His research focuses on antibiotic resistance, One Health approaches, biosafety and biosecurity. He has 2 postdocs: the first from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine in "One Health on AMR" at Washington State University, and the second from the Swiss Government Excellence Fellowship at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. ASM's Global Public Health Programs recognized Qamar for his "52 Weeks One Health Biosafety Program." He is also one of ASM’s Fellows for the Future Leader Mentorship Fellowship.

Qamar has an IFBA Biorisk Management certification, and the Pakistan Biological Safety Association certified him as a biosafety master trainer. He has worked at Cardiff University School of Medicine and Pharmacy in U.K., the Kenya Medical Research Institute, the Wellcome Trust and the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya. Qamar has 6 national and international research awards and has published over 80 research papers. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences in countries including Kenya, Switzerland, Thailand, the U.K. and the U.S.
