Nazzy Pakpour, Ph.D.

Dr. Nazzy Pakpour is an assistant professor in the Biology Department at California State University (CSU). She graduated from University of California Davis with a degree in Entomology and completed her Ph.D. in °®¶¹´«Ã½, Virology, and Parasitology at the University of Pennsylvania. Pakpour teaches °®¶¹´«Ã½ and Medical °®¶¹´«Ã½ at CSU East Bay and her research is broadly focused on the impact of nutrition and type 2 diabetes on the transmission of malaria by mosquitoes. Pakpour cares deeply about increasing diversity in STEM education and is always looking for ways to be more culturally inclusive in the classroom. She also runs the CSU East Bay traveling insect petting zoo and is founder of the annual CSU East Bay Hack Day. More information about her work can be found at .
