After getting an undergraduate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Richard Davis, Ph.D., D(ABMM), MLS(ASCP) worked as a bench technologist before getting his Ph.D. in immunology, studying the tropical disease leishmaniaisis. He completed a clinical microbiology (CPEP) fellowship at the University of Utah/ARUP Laboratories before becoming the microbiology lab director at Providence Sacred Heart in Spokane, Wash.
