Sara Brownell, Ph.D., is a professor in the School of Life Sciences and the Research for Inclusive STEM Education Center Director at Arizona State University. As a discipline-based education researcher, she explores how to make undergraduate biology learning environments more inclusive, specifically for women, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, community college transfer students and religious students. She has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in biology education and has been nationally recognized as an AAAS Fellow and the 2020 LGBTQ+ Educator of the Year.
