ASM's COVID-19 Research Registry hosted the virtual discussion "Wastewater Surveillance for COVID-19 and Beyond" on May 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. ET.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, pathogen surveillance efforts greatly expanded. One such way is through the testing of wastewater for pathogens, such as SARS-CoV-2. Wastewater surveillance is a cost-effective strategy to monitor for pathogens in a community. As the capacity for wastewater surveillance expanded during the pandemic, experts will share ways to harness these efforts for the future of COVID-19 as well as for current and emerging pathogens.
