Jillian Socea, Ph.D.
Jillian Socea, Ph.D., received her doctoral degree in microbiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before moving to Nashville, Tenn. for a postdoctoral fellowship to work in a public health laboratory. Her work focuses on antimicrobial resistance testing and the application of whole genome sequencing within this space. She is passionate about bringing science to the masses, in hopes of spreading the excitement she feels for the field! She believes there is a scientist in everyone that seeks to explore the curious world around us. “Knowledge is empowering because it helps us to make everyday decisions for our own health and needs.”
