Kanika Khanna, Ph.D., is a scientific program leader at the Gladstone Institute of Virology. As a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, Khanna studied the structural basis of membrane manipulation and cell-cell fusion by bacterial pathogens. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in January 2020, where she employed novel modalities in cryo-electron microscopy to uncover the mechanisms of cell division and peptidoglycan remodeling in Bacillus subtilis and jumbo phage replication in Pseudomonas.
