Nikea Pittman, Ph.D.

Dr. Nikea Pittman, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Secretary of the Black Microbiologists Association. Her research uses structural biology to study enzymes involved in defense against oxidative stress for Escherichia coli. She completed undergraduate and graduate training at the University of Florida. Dr. Pittman is an NIH K12 IRACDA scholar and Burroughs Wellcome Fund PDEP awardee. She is committed to improving pathways faced by young scientists and scientists-in-training.
