Nikki Shariat, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Population Health in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. Her research program is focused on understanding Salmonella serovar diversity and ecology by employing novel amplicon-based detection technologies. Her research bridges the gap between bioinformatics, microbiology and molecular biology to study Salmonella dynamics in food animal production and the environment.
